Nate's Kids Scholarship

Our mission is to make a difference for disadvantaged children through dance and performing arts. We dance, act, and connect with students of all ages and abilities in a creative, non-competitive environment at our community arts center and at social service agencies, child care centers, and schools throughout the area. With more than 10 years of experience, we connect with each child in a transparent and flexible way.
Our dance classes and performances inspire all children, including those who are homeless, disadvantaged, at-risk, and those with special needs. Whether it be a ballroom class, barn dance, danceathon, dance-off, dance show, disco, or talent contest, we want to see everyone, from tiny tots to groovy grannies, shaking a leg to educate, equip, and inspire disadvantaged children around the Kansas City Area. Our children's charity is a nonprofit supported by generous corporations, foundations, and individuals. Who is Nate?
Nate was a hard worker who always rose to every occasion with determination. He had an incredible ability of focusing on the solution, because there was "no point focusing on the problem."
September 19th, 2009, he married the love of his life. But just before his one-year wedding anniversary, he was diagnosed with viral endocarditis.Nate fought the disease for two years. He had such a beautiful way of putting life into perspective, never complaining about anything he had to face. The cancer may have ultimately taken his body, but it could never take his warrior spirit.He was always a family kind of guy. Although Nate did not get to have children of his own, he loved his nieces and nephews. Nate's Kids was founded in his honor. He is loved fiercely and will be missed daily. |
